A one-day course focused on PyTorch, with a brief introduction to other widely used AI frameworks.
The training event is open to all. There is no registration fee required. To register for the training event, a SAFE login is required. If you do not have an existing SAFE account, please register for one first.
This course will primarily introduce the PyTorch framework, the most popular Python AI framework used for implementing neural networks and other applied AI applications. The course will also briefly cover other widely used AI frameworks such as JAX and TensorFlow, highlighting when theses alternative frameworks may be more suitable for the implementation of work.
This in-person course is aimed at anyone who has introductory level knowledge of neural networks and their usage. Attendees will get the most out of this course if they have basic Python and linear algebra knowledge. Familiarity with the use of Python's NumPy library will be useful. We also recommend that people are already familiar with the concepts described in the Pilot-UKAIFA Demystifying AI webinar.
The one-day course will cover:
Instructors: The course will be led by Dr Charaka Palansuriya, with colleagues from the Pilot-UKAIFA training team at EPCC.
Requirements: Attendees wishing to take part in the practical components of the course should bring a laptop. Demos and discussion will be available for those with no experience of Python or those who cannot bring a laptop.
